Our 90-hour Community Health Worker / Traditional Health Worker training is rooted in the sacred window of the first thousand days—from early pregnancy through baby’s second birthday. In this powerful season, a family’s nervous system, bonding patterns, and sense of belonging are being written for a lifetime. Mother Tree’s program trains CHWs to become steady, culturally-responsive companions during this transition, wrapping families in the culture of nurturing we are known for.

  • Through a blend of evidence-based education, story, reflection, and skills practice, participants learn how to support birthing people, newborns, and young families across diverse settings. Mother Tree’s “roots and branches” approach centers community wisdom and lived experience.
  • Participants learn to walk alongside families as advocates, educators, and bridges—connecting them to Medicaid and community resources, clinics and doulas, behavioral health support, and village-building opportunities.
  • By the end of the 90 hours, graduates are prepared to step into the field as confident, trauma-informed, relationship-centered Community Health Workers who understand that what we do in the first thousand days doesn’t just change a child’s life—it changes generations.
